Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a strong focus on relational databases and cloud environments. Your expertise in PostgreSQL is complemented by a solid understanding of database architecture and performance tuning. You thrive in collaborative settings, working closely with Engineering, DevOps, and Security teams to ensure data integrity and security.
You are comfortable operating in production environments and making critical decisions under ambiguity. Your proactive approach to problem-solving allows you to anticipate issues before they arise, ensuring the health and performance of the databases you manage. You have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to building resilient data platforms that support business objectives.
Desirable
Experience with other major relational databases is a plus, as is familiarity with cloud services and architectures. You understand the importance of data security and compliance, especially in the fintech sector, and are committed to implementing best practices in these areas.
What you'll do
As a Senior Database Administrator at Vestwell, you will own the health and performance of our core relational databases that power our retirement and savings platforms. You will be responsible for database design, implementation, and maintenance, ensuring that our data systems are reliable, secure, and scalable. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize database performance and support new features and products.
You will monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency. Your role will involve regular database backups, recovery planning, and ensuring compliance with data governance policies. You will also participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the evolution of our data strategy as we continue to grow and innovate in the fintech space.
