You have extensive experience in software engineering, particularly in building scalable applications — you've taken ownership of critical product areas from architecture through launch and understand the nuances of maintaining high-quality standards in fast-paced environments. Your expertise in TypeScript and familiarity with WebGL and WASM allows you to jump into code for critical paths and rapid prototypes, ensuring that performance and reliability are never compromised.

You are a natural mentor who enjoys developing junior engineers into future tech leads — you model clear written design and practice crisp decision-making, fostering a culture of excellence within your team. Your ability to represent engineering trade-offs with cross-functional partners, including Product and Design, makes you an invaluable asset in collaborative settings.

What you'll do

In this role, you will set the architecture roadmap to keep Vizcom reliable and scalable as usage and data grow — your hands-on approach will involve shipping prototypes and debugging complex issues related to latency, memory, and race conditions. You will install quality guardrails that scale, including test strategies and code-review norms, ensuring that the engineering standards are upheld across the board.

You will also be responsible for mentoring and multiplying the engineering talent within the organization — developing senior engineers into tech leads and helping to cultivate a world-class engineering culture as Vizcom scales. Your partnership with the CTO will be crucial as you represent engineering perspectives in discussions with product and design teams, ensuring that the technical direction aligns with business goals.
