You possess a strong background in designing and operating large-scale, production-critical systems — your experience includes working with event-driven architectures and ensuring high availability and performance in distributed systems. You are comfortable mentoring engineers and leading code and design reviews, fostering a culture of excellence within your team.

Your collaborative spirit shines as you partner closely with Product, SRE, and Security teams — you understand the importance of aligning technical solutions with business goals and are adept at driving reliability and scalability improvements across systems. You are passionate about setting engineering standards and best practices that elevate the quality of your team's output.

Experience with unified communications and contact center solutions is a plus — you are familiar with the challenges and opportunities in the communications API space and are ready to innovate in this domain.

What you'll do

As a Backend Tech Lead at Vonage, you will own and evolve the backend architecture for our commerce, payments, and messaging platforms — your role will involve leading the technical design for APIs, data models, and event-driven workflows across services.
