Overview

Waabi is hiring a Senior / Staff Software Engineer for their Simulation Platform team to enhance their self-driving simulator, Waabi World. You'll work with technologies like Docker and Agile methodologies, requiring experience in autonomous systems and distributed systems.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in building complex systems for autonomous vehicles or robotics. Your background includes working with simulation platforms and you are familiar with the intricacies of machine learning and AI technologies. You thrive in collaborative environments and have a strong understanding of Agile methodologies, which you have applied in previous roles to enhance team productivity and project outcomes.

Your technical expertise includes experience with Docker and distributed systems, allowing you to design and implement scalable solutions that can handle large-scale simulations. You have a solid foundation in software development principles and are comfortable working with various programming languages and tools. You are passionate about innovation and eager to contribute to the advancement of self-driving technology.

Desirable

Experience with Bazel and sensor data processing is a plus, as is familiarity with orchestration software for simulation components. You are also open to learning new technologies and methodologies that can enhance your contributions to the team.

What you'll do

As a Senior / Staff Software Engineer on the Simulation Platform team, you will contribute to the development and improvement of Waabi World, our state-of-the-art self-driving simulator. Your role will involve enhancing the scalability and performance of the simulation platform, ensuring it can efficiently run simulations at a large scale. You will design and implement orchestration software that integrates various simulation subcomponents, including the onboard autonomy system and data-driven actor models.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including AI researchers and software engineers, to ensure that the simulation platform meets the needs of the autonomous vehicle development process. Your contributions will directly impact the speed and efficiency of our development cycles, helping to bring self-driving technology closer to commercialization.
