You are an intellectually curious and highly motivated individual with a strong background in backend engineering. You have a track record of shipping product features at scale and excel at making the right tradeoffs between building it fast and building it right. You have experience leading and delivering on cross-functional projects, supporting multiple other engineers, and are eager to contribute to a team that is foundational to the company's success.
You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy partnering across the company to lead exploration efforts that help new sellers and small categories grow and thrive. You understand the importance of community in e-commerce and are excited about the opportunity to blend shopping and entertainment into a unique marketplace experience.
Desirable
Experience with live shopping platforms or e-commerce solutions would be a plus. Familiarity with agile methodologies and a passion for innovation in technology will help you succeed in this role.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be a key member of the Discovery Feed & Personalization team, where you will ship product features that enhance user experience and drive engagement. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and implement solutions that meet user needs and business goals. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing backend systems that support the Discovery Feed, ensuring scalability and performance.
You will also be involved in code reviews, providing feedback to peers, and mentoring junior engineers as they grow in their roles. Your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams will be essential as you work to align technical solutions with business objectives. You will participate in brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas that can be translated into actionable projects.
