You have extensive experience in safety management systems, particularly in the context of autonomous vehicles. Your background includes developing safety goals and strategies, and you are well-versed in conducting safety engineering analyses to ensure safety is prioritized throughout vehicle design and development. You possess strong leadership skills and have a proven track record of working with regulatory authorities, lawmakers, and public organizations to promote safety strategies and policies. Your ability to advise on compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations is a key asset in this role.
Experience in the autonomous driving industry or related fields is a plus. Familiarity with the latest safety technologies and methodologies will enhance your effectiveness in this position. You are a proactive communicator who can engage with various stakeholders effectively, ensuring that safety remains a top priority in all discussions and implementations.
In this role, you will lead the development of strategic and tactical Safety Management System (SMS) implementation plans, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements. You will work closely with the Director of Safety & Incident Management to promote and continuously improve the safety of Waymo's autonomous driving technology. Your responsibilities will include developing safety strategies that align with Waymo's mission to be the world's most trusted driver. You will also conduct safety engineering analyses to ensure that safety considerations are integrated into the design and development processes of vehicles.
You will collaborate with various teams within Waymo to ensure that safety policies are effectively communicated and implemented. This includes advising on compliance with applicable regulations and working with external stakeholders to promote safety initiatives. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a culture of safety within the organization, ensuring that all team members are aligned with Waymo's safety goals.
Waymo offers a competitive salary range of $226,000—$286,000 USD, along with eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus program and an equity incentive plan. You will also benefit from a generous company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements. This hybrid role allows you to work from our Mountain View office while also providing flexibility for remote work.
