Recharge is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to build and operate core systems for their subscription platform. You'll work with technologies like Python, Flask, and GCP to handle millions of charge attempts and process over a billion events weekly. This position requires significant experience in backend engineering.
You are an experienced backend engineer with a strong foundation in distributed systems and a passion for solving complex challenges around scale and performance. You have a collaborative mindset and value craftsmanship in your work, ensuring that the systems you build are reliable and of high quality. Your expertise in Python and frameworks like Flask allows you to create robust applications that meet the needs of a growing user base. You are comfortable working with cloud technologies, particularly GCP, and have experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes. Your familiarity with event-driven architectures and charge processing systems makes you a great fit for our Foundation Services team.
Experience with Dapr for building microservices and managing stateful applications is a plus. Familiarity with Redis for caching and MySQL/NoSQL databases for data storage will enhance your ability to contribute effectively. Knowledge of Terraform for infrastructure as code and Docker for containerization will also be beneficial in this role.
As a Senior Backend Engineer on the Foundation Services team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the core systems that power Recharge's subscription platform. You will work on our event-bus implementations and charge processing systems, ensuring they can handle millions of charge attempts each week. Collaborating with other skilled engineers, you will focus on reliability and performance, tackling challenges that arise in a high-traffic environment. Your role will involve designing scalable solutions, optimizing existing systems, and integrating with partners like Shopify and Klaviyo. You will also contribute to the development of webhooks that connect Recharge to the broader ecosystem, enhancing the overall functionality of our platform.
