SpaceX is hiring an Ultra Precision Machining Specialist to develop precision machining processes for producing micron-level parts. You'll work with advanced machining equipment and collaborate with a skilled team. This role requires 5+ years of experience in machining processes.
You have over 5 years of experience independently developing machining processes, demonstrating your ability to plan, program, and execute complex projects. Your background includes working with advanced machining equipment, and you are skilled in designing tooling and CAM programming. You thrive in environments where you can proactively identify and address potential development and production blockers, ensuring smooth operations.
Your expertise in precision machining allows you to work with 3/4/5 axis mills and multi-axis turning centers, showcasing your technical skillset. You are comfortable collaborating with machinists to prove out and bring up new product lines on tight timelines, and you have a strong understanding of maintaining and troubleshooting defined processes while in production.
As an Ultra Precision Machining Specialist, you will be responsible for developing precision machining cells to produce single-digit micron parts. You will scope, develop, execute, and automate precision machining processes, utilizing your extensive knowledge of machining technologies. Your role will involve designing tooling and CAM programming, working closely with machinists to ensure successful implementation of new product lines.
You will proactively identify potential development and production blockers, addressing them effectively to maintain workflow efficiency. Your responsibilities will also include defining and communicating manufacturing processes to production and engineering teams, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed. You will play a crucial role in bringing development projects into production, contributing to SpaceX's mission of pushing the boundaries of what is possible in machining.
