SpaceX is hiring an Orbital Tube Welder (Fluid Systems) to operate welding systems and assemble fluid systems. This role requires at least 1 year of welding experience and a high school diploma or equivalent.
You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and at least 1 year of experience in welding, machining, or manufacturing. You may also hold a certificate from an accredited trade skills program in A&P, manufacturing, welding, or electronics. Ideally, you have certification from a formal orbital weld training program and 3+ years of orbital welding experience. Your background includes experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment, and you possess skills in TIG welding and clean room practices.
In this role, you will follow established procedures to set up and operate the orbital welding system. You will work from blueprints and approved drawings, cutting and preparing all tubing and fittings used in the welding operation. Your responsibilities will include performing setup of the welding system, assembling and calibrating liquid controllers and systems as required, and inspecting all completed assemblies using the borescope inspection system. You will also maintain an adequate supply of spare parts for the welding system and ensure a clean work area while keeping a file of all work records.
