Overview

Snowflake is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for their Engineering Systems Continuous Integration Team. You'll design and build a world-class developer platform to enhance the Snowflake Data Cloud, leveraging your expertise in distributed systems and cloud computing.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 9+ years of industry experience designing and building distributed data systems — your background equips you with a deep understanding of the complexities involved in creating scalable and efficient software solutions. You are passionate about making developers highly productive, and you thrive in environments that prioritize innovation and collaboration.

Your experience includes working with cloud computing technologies, and you have a strong grasp of continuous integration practices — you understand the importance of delivering high-quality software quickly and efficiently. You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys tackling challenges and pushing the boundaries of what is possible in software engineering.

You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and other engineers — you know how to drive clarity on strategy and ensure alignment on project goals. Your ability to stay ahead of technological trends and future demands makes you a valuable asset to any team.

What you'll do

As a Staff Software Engineer on the Continuous Integration team, you will play a central role in setting the technical standards for the CI service that powers Snowflake's repositories — your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of the developer platform. You will collaborate with industry experts to evolve the developer infrastructure and tooling, ensuring it is elastic, large-scale, and highly performant.

You will be responsible for driving the quarterly and long-term roadmaps for the team, ensuring that the team is executing towards serving the current needs of its customers — your strategic vision will help shape the future of Snowflake's engineering systems. You will also mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster a culture of learning and growth within the team.

What we offer

At Snowflake, you will be part of a culture that values impact, innovation, and collaboration — we encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that empowers enterprises to achieve their full potential, while also advancing your own career in a supportive environment. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, along with a commitment to your professional development.
