SpaceX is hiring a Welder (Starship) for a temporary position at Starbase, TX. You'll participate in an accelerated training program to qualify for welding on the Starship and Super Heavy vehicles. This role requires hands-on skills in GTAW welding.
You are eager to learn and develop your skills in welding, particularly in the context of aerospace applications. You have a strong interest in fabrication and are ready to participate in an intensive training program that prepares you for a role in building advanced spacecraft. You are detail-oriented and capable of analyzing engineering drawings to execute precise welding operations. Experience or familiarity with welding techniques, particularly GTAW, is a plus. A background in metal fabrication or a related field will help you adapt quickly to the training program. As a Welder (Starship), you will engage in an accelerated training program at SpaceX's South Texas build site. You will learn to perform GTAW class A welds, cut, trim, fit, and fabricate metal components to precise dimensions for building and assembling spacecraft structures. You will collaborate closely with lead welders to ensure that the correct weld procedures, types of materials, and rod sizes are accurately assessed for each project. You will analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan welding operations, especially when procedural information is not readily available. Your role will also involve making continuous efforts to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes while working cooperatively with your team.
