Apple is hiring a Systems Engineer for the OS Performance team to drive performance excellence across its software and hardware ecosystem. You'll work on optimizing performance from high-level applications to low-level kernel components. This role requires a strong background in debugging complex systems and performance optimization.
You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and possess a strong background in systems engineering. You are self-motivated and enjoy debugging complex systems, with a natural curiosity for understanding how different components interact and impact overall performance. You have experience with performance optimization and measurement tools, and you thrive in collaborative environments where you can work with cross-functional teams to solve challenging problems.
You have a solid understanding of the full software stack, from high-level applications and frameworks to low-level kernel components. Your experience includes working on performance issues across various systems, and you are adept at developing solutions that enhance user experience. You are comfortable with Linux and have a keen interest in optimizing performance on both current and next-generation hardware.
In this role, you will dive deep into performance issues surfaced across Apple's ecosystem, collaborating with various partner teams to decipher complex system conditions that impact performance. You will drive innovative performance optimization ideas from conception to delivery, developing measurement tools and analysis frameworks that reflect real-world usage. Your responsibilities will include creating testing methodologies, analyzing performance data, and implementing solutions that ensure every device delivers the smooth, responsive experience Apple customers expect.
