Zola is seeking a Senior Director of Marketplace Strategy and Operations to drive the growth of their Vendor Marketplace platform. You'll collaborate with various teams to inform and execute growth strategies. This role requires a strong analytical mindset and experience in marketplace operations.
You have a proven track record in marketplace strategy and operations, ideally within a B2B sales environment — your experience at growing companies has equipped you with the skills to navigate complex business challenges and drive results. You are a collaborative and analytical problem-solver who thrives in dynamic settings, able to toggle between high-level strategy and detailed execution seamlessly.
Your love for data and customer insights means you are comfortable digging into complex datasets to surface actionable strategies — you excel in tools like Excel and PowerPoint, allowing you to present your findings effectively to stakeholders. You are structured yet creative in your thinking, which enables you to build and optimize business models that align with company goals.
You enjoy working with diverse teams and are committed to fostering a culture of respect and inclusion — your interpersonal skills allow you to build strong relationships across departments, including Product, Sales, Marketing, and Finance. You are driven by a desire to put the customer first, ensuring that all strategies align with enhancing the customer experience.
Experience in a fast-paced marketplace environment is a plus, as is familiarity with vendor management and cross-functional team leadership. A background in data analysis or business intelligence tools would further enhance your ability to contribute to Zola's growth.
As the Senior Director of Marketplace Strategy and Operations, you will be the authority on the Vendor Marketplace business — your insights will inform growth strategies in partnership with the GM, and you will own the execution of key initiatives. You will lead cross-functional teams on projects aimed at driving growth, ensuring that all efforts are aligned with the overall business objectives.
Your responsibilities will include refining the business model and building ambitious annual plans for the business unit — you will analyze and report on performance metrics to ensure that the marketplace is meeting its growth targets. You will also be tasked with understanding what strategies are working and which are not, digging into complex data to surface insights that can drive future initiatives.
Collaboration will be key in this role, as you will work closely with various teams to ensure that all aspects of the marketplace are functioning optimally. You will be responsible for leading projects that enhance the vendor experience and drive customer satisfaction, ultimately contributing to Zola's mission of creating a seamless wedding planning experience.
