42dot is hiring a Senior Android Engineer to develop on-device services for Android Automotive OS. You'll work with Java and Kotlin to create scalable client services that integrate with cloud-based functionalities. This position requires over 5 years of experience in Android development.
Job Description
Who you are
You have over 5 years of experience in Android development, demonstrating a deep understanding of the Android framework and proficiency in Java and Kotlin. Your expertise includes asynchronous processing with Coroutines, and you have hands-on experience implementing RESTful APIs or gRPC communication. You are familiar with the intricacies of Android Automotive OS and have a passion for developing innovative automotive solutions.
You possess a strong understanding of clean architecture and modularization, applying these principles in your work to ensure maintainability and scalability. Your experience includes developing SDKs that provide robust functionalities to app developers, enhancing the user experience in automotive environments. You are also well-versed in testing frameworks such as JUnit, MockK, and Kotest, ensuring high-quality code through rigorous testing practices.
Your background includes experience with CI/CD pipelines, allowing you to streamline the development process and improve deployment efficiency. You are a proactive problem solver who thrives in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional automotive services.
Desirable
Experience in developing infotainment systems for vehicles is a plus, as is familiarity with AIDL for Android Service development. You have worked with real-time databases and understand the nuances of bidirectional synchronization features. Your knowledge of Android platform capabilities is broad, enabling you to leverage the full potential of the technology in your projects.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for developing client services based on Android Automotive OS, focusing on creating reliable and scalable functionalities for vehicles. You will work on the Pleos Automotive Service, ensuring that it integrates seamlessly with various cloud services to enhance the overall user experience. Your contributions will include developing an Android Automotive SDK that allows easy access to your automotive services across different applications.
You will collaborate with other developers to create a standardized Android-based platform for future vehicle services, ensuring compatibility and reusability across various applications.
