Overview
42dot is hiring a Senior Android Engineer (System UI) to optimize IVI systems based on Android Automotive. You'll work with Java and Kotlin to develop core middleware and applications for vehicles. This position requires 5+ years of programming experience.
Job Description
Who you are
You have over 5 years of programming experience with Java and Kotlin, demonstrating your ability to develop robust applications and middleware. Your understanding of the Android platform allows you to customize the Android System UI for vehicle environments, ensuring a user-friendly experience for drivers. You hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in a technical field, which equips you with the necessary knowledge to excel in this role.
Your familiarity with Android System UI and the Android Window Layer showcases your expertise in developing system applications. You have experience with System Service development and integration, which is crucial for creating seamless interactions within the vehicle's infotainment system. Additionally, you are knowledgeable about the Android Compatibility Definition Document (CDD) and have experience responding to the Android Compatibility Test Suite (CTS).
What you'll do
As a Senior Android Engineer (System UI) at 42dot, you will be responsible for developing the Android System Bar and Climate Panel, tailoring these components to enhance the in-vehicle experience. You will also work on other Android System Overlays and System Apps, including Notifications, Launchers, and various applications that contribute to the IVI system's functionality. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that the software meets the highest standards of quality and performance.
You will engage in coding tests and interviews as part of the hiring process, which includes a coding test followed by video and in-person interviews. Your contributions will directly impact the competitiveness of the business by optimizing core middleware and applications that define the user experience in Software Defined Vehicles.
