Aeva is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to contribute to the development and lifecycle maintenance of next-generation LiDAR sensor products. You'll apply systems engineering processes to ensure compliance with automotive standards, focusing on ASPICE, Functional Safety, and Cybersecurity. Who you are

You have a strong background in systems engineering with at least 5 years of experience, particularly in the automotive sector. Your expertise includes implementing and maintaining compliance with ASPICE, Functional Safety (ISO 26262), and Cybersecurity (ISO/SAE 21434) standards. You are well-versed in sensor technology and have a practical understanding of systems engineering tools that ensure robust analysis and requirements traceability.

You thrive in collaborative environments and can effectively communicate complex technical concepts to cross-functional teams. Your attention to detail ensures that design and implementation adhere to stringent automotive standards, and you are committed to delivering high-quality work products. You understand the importance of safety and compliance in the development of autonomous systems and are passionate about contributing to innovative technologies.

Desirable

Experience with LiDAR technology is a plus, as is familiarity with the latest advancements in sensor systems. You may also have a background in software development or hardware integration, which complements your systems engineering skills. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn new technologies will set you apart in this role.

What you'll do

As a Senior Systems Engineer at Aeva, you will play a crucial role in the development of next-generation LiDAR sensor products. Your responsibilities will include applying detailed systems engineering processes to ensure compliance with automotive standards throughout the product lifecycle. You will implement and maintain work products that align with ASPICE, Functional Safety, and Cybersecurity requirements, ensuring that all design and implementation efforts meet stringent quality standards.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware and software engineers, to ensure that all aspects of the product are integrated effectively. Your role will involve conducting robust analysis and maintaining requirements traceability to support the development process. You will also be responsible for identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure the safety and reliability of the products.

In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of systems engineering practices within the organization. You will mentor junior engineers and share your knowledge of best practices in systems engineering, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
