You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in building scalable systems and data pipelines. Your expertise in Java and Python allows you to design robust backend solutions that meet business needs. You are comfortable working with SQL and understand how to manage and query large datasets effectively. You thrive in collaborative environments, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver strategic outcomes. You have a strong understanding of system architecture and can influence technical strategy across multiple teams. You are motivated by the mission to provide honest financial products that improve lives, and you are excited about the opportunity to contribute to a growing company.
What you'll do
In this role, you will own and deliver strategic outcomes by driving the definition and delivery of quarterly and long-term goals. You will lead engineers through ambiguity and open-ended problems, providing clarity and direction. You will shape the architecture and technical strategy of backend systems, ensuring that solutions are scalable, extensible, and aligned with broader engineering standards. You will collaborate cross-functionally with product, analytics, and design teams to define solutions that meet user needs. Your work will be vital for delivering accurate and timely data from Affirm’s financial product portfolio to Consumer Reporting Agencies. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional development.
