You have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong background in building and maintaining data pipelines that support machine learning models and analytics. Your expertise in Python and SQL allows you to manipulate and analyze large datasets effectively, ensuring data quality and accessibility for various stakeholders. You are familiar with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and have experience with data processing frameworks like Apache Spark. Your understanding of orchestration tools such as Airflow enables you to automate workflows and manage complex data pipelines efficiently.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with data scientists and analysts to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that enhance their workflows. You have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to improving data quality, which is critical for the success of data-driven products. You are also comfortable communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment across teams.

What you'll do

As a Staff Data Engineer at Airbnb, you will play a pivotal role in the Users, Listings, and Marketplaces Data and AI organization. You will be responsible for designing and implementing robust data pipelines that support host personalization products and enhance the overall guest experience. Your work will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and ensure that data is collected, processed, and made available in a timely manner.

You will own the development of data models and work on improving the quality of data that feeds into machine learning models.
