Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong background in building scalable data architectures and integrating complex data systems. Your expertise in Python and SQL allows you to manipulate and analyze large datasets effectively, ensuring data quality and accessibility across teams. You are familiar with data pipeline tools like Airflow and have experience working with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or AWS. You understand the importance of collaboration and can work closely with software engineers, machine learning engineers, and data scientists to align data flows with business needs. You are proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement in data practices and are committed to up-leveling the data engineering foundation within your organization.
Desirable
Experience with BigQuery and Docker is a plus, as you will be working with these technologies to optimize data processing and deployment. Familiarity with machine learning concepts and practices will also be beneficial as you collaborate on data products that leverage AI.
What you'll do
In this role, you will own critical datasets related to Users, Listings, and Marketplaces at Airbnb. You will design and implement data models that support the development of data products and machine learning models, ensuring they meet the needs of both the Guest and Host organizations. You will partner with infrastructure teams to ship data products that enhance the user experience for millions of guests and hosts globally. Your responsibilities will include designing scalable data architectures, integrating data sources, and ensuring data quality and reliability. You will also play a key role in mentoring junior data engineers and fostering a culture of best practices within the team.

Airbnb offers a competitive salary range of $244,000—$305,000 USD, along with potential bonuses, equity, and benefits.
