Who you are
You have extensive experience in regulatory legal matters, particularly within the financial services sector — your background includes navigating complex legal frameworks and ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions. You possess a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape in EMEA and have successfully managed legal risks in a fast-paced environment.
Your strong analytical skills allow you to assess legal implications of business decisions and provide strategic guidance to senior management. You are adept at building relationships with regulatory bodies and have a proven track record of influencing policy and regulatory outcomes.
You thrive in collaborative settings and enjoy working closely with cross-functional teams, including compliance, operations, and product development. Your communication skills are exceptional, enabling you to articulate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders effectively.
Desirable
Experience in the payments or fintech industry is a plus, as is familiarity with emerging technologies and their regulatory implications. A strong network within the legal and regulatory community in EMEA will be beneficial.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead the regulatory legal function for Airwallex across the EMEA region, ensuring that the company adheres to all relevant laws and regulations. You will provide legal advice on a wide range of issues, including product development, compliance, and risk management. Your responsibilities will include drafting and reviewing legal documents, negotiating contracts, and representing the company in regulatory discussions.
You will work closely with the compliance team to develop and implement policies and procedures that align with regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will monitor changes in legislation and assess their impact on the business, proactively advising on necessary adjustments to operations.
You will also play a key role in training and educating internal teams on legal and compliance matters, fostering a culture of compliance within the organization. Your leadership will be crucial in navigating the evolving regulatory landscape and ensuring that Airwallex remains a trusted partner for its clients.
