Who you are
You are an aspiring software engineer with a strong interest in full stack web development. You have experience or coursework in programming languages such as Python and TypeScript, and you are eager to learn and apply your skills in a real-world trading environment. You thrive in collaborative settings and are excited about working with cross-functional teams, including Traders and Quants, to create impactful applications.
You possess a foundational understanding of web technologies, particularly in building user interfaces with React. You are detail-oriented and committed to writing clean, maintainable code. You are also familiar with testing methodologies and understand the importance of unit and integration tests in ensuring software quality. Your enthusiasm for technology and problem-solving drives you to continuously improve your skills and contribute to team success.
Desirable
Experience with real-time applications or financial technology is a plus, but not required. You may have participated in coding bootcamps, hackathons, or relevant projects that demonstrate your coding abilities and teamwork skills. A willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment will set you apart.
What you'll do
As a Full Stack Engineer Intern at Akuna, you will engage in a 10-week internship program where you will work closely with the User Interface team. Your primary responsibility will be to design, build, test, and maintain web applications that facilitate real-time trading activities. You will collaborate with Traders and other Software Engineers to understand their needs and translate them into functional software solutions.
You will be involved in the entire software development lifecycle, from gathering requirements to deploying applications. Your role will include implementing robust unit and integration tests to ensure the reliability of the applications you develop. You will also have the opportunity to learn about low latency technologies and trading strategies that are critical to Akuna's operations.
Throughout your internship, you will receive mentorship from experienced engineers and have the chance to participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions. This collaborative environment will allow you to gain insights into the trading industry and enhance your technical skills.
