Who you are
You hold a PhD or a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field, along with 3+ years of experience in these domains. You have a strong background in programming languages such as Java, C++, and Python, which you have used to build models for business applications. Your expertise in natural language processing and multi-modal data processing sets you apart, and you are familiar with the latest advancements in LLM technologies. You have experience managing high-performing research teams, demonstrating your leadership capabilities in a fast-paced environment.
You are comfortable working with Unix/Linux systems and have developed, implemented, and evaluated deep learning algorithms and LLMs. Your ability to integrate structured and unstructured information into AI systems using techniques like RAG is a key strength. You thrive in environments that require independence in decision-making and are driven by ambitious research agendas that lead to production-ready solutions.
What you'll do
As an Applied Scientist in Amazon's AGI Information team, you will be at the forefront of AI research, focusing on integrating advanced LLM technologies into various Amazon products. You will collaborate with other science and engineering teams, as well as business stakeholders, to maximize the impact of your team's contributions. Your role will involve innovating in the rapidly evolving fields of AI, particularly in how to effectively utilize both structured and unstructured data.
You will lead research initiatives that aim to enhance the information-driven experiences of Amazon customers worldwide. This includes developing new methodologies and algorithms that can be applied across Alexa, AWS, and other Amazon businesses. Your work will not only contribute to the scientific community but also have a direct impact on the products that millions of users interact with daily.
