Who you are
You have a PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field, along with 3+ years of experience building models for business applications. Your strong programming skills in Java, C++, or Python enable you to tackle complex technical challenges effectively.
You possess a deep understanding of algorithms and data structures, and you are experienced in parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, and parallel and distributed computing. Your background in high-performance computing equips you to develop scalable solutions that enhance web search capabilities.
You are passionate about innovating on behalf of customers and demonstrate strong product ownership. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with engineering teams to deploy and debug model performance in production settings.
What you'll do
In this role, you will develop state-of-the-art web search technology, focusing on training novel retrieval and ranking models. You will scale models and optimize their performance, ensuring they meet the high standards expected by Amazon's intelligent assistant products.
You will partner with engineering teams to deploy your models and debug their performance in real-world applications. Your work will directly impact the customer experience, as you design and implement solutions that are used daily by millions of users.
You will also engage in rigorous research, contributing to the field by publishing papers in top information retrieval conferences. Your innovative solutions will drive key improvements in Amazon's web search capabilities, making a significant difference in how users interact with technology.
