Job Description
Who you are
You hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in statistics, business analytics, data analytics, data science, computer science, or a related field. You have experience with data querying or modeling using SQL, and you are proficient in at least one scripting language such as Python, Java, or R. Your background includes applying basic statistical methods, such as regression, to solve complex business problems. You are familiar with industry analytics visualization tools like Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, or Power BI, and you understand how to analyze resource utilization and performance test data.
What you'll do
As a Business Intelligence Engineer in the Search Capacity team, you will scale the Amazon Search service by collaborating closely with service owners in engineering and operations to gain a deep understanding of the service. You will drive optimal scaling and capacity planning by identifying and tracking key performance metrics related to efficiency and costs. Your responsibilities will include managing planning, ordering, and budgeting for hardware and computational resources, as well as developing and improving tools to automate these tasks wherever possible. You will analyze resource utilization and performance test data to identify variables impacting performance and scalability, and develop models for required hardware resources to meet current and future service level agreements (SLAs).
