You have a strong background in category management and merchandising, ideally with experience in the grocery or retail sector. You understand how to leverage customer insights and market trends to create data-driven strategies that enhance product offerings and drive sales. Your analytical skills allow you to review category success and financial health effectively, ensuring that your strategies align with business goals. You excel in building relationships with suppliers, negotiating for the best products and prices, and maintaining accurate item-level data in compliance with regulations.

You are a collaborative team player who enjoys working cross-functionally with marketing, e-commerce, operations, finance, and technology teams. You have a knack for curating assortments that resonate with customers and enhance their shopping experience. Your ability to shape pricing and promotional strategies demonstrates your understanding of balancing profitability with customer value. You are proactive in monitoring and innovating programs, such as the online catering program, to keep pace with evolving customer needs.

What you'll do

In this role, you will strategize and innovate by creating customer-centric category strategies that leverage insights and competitive analysis. You will take ownership of the financial performance of your category, developing and executing pre-season strategies that align with business objectives. Collaborating with suppliers, you will curate assortments that bring the best products to stores and online channels, leading line reviews and assortment planning. You will help shape pricing strategies that balance profitability with customer value, working closely with marketing teams to support impactful promotional events.

Your responsibilities will include defining merchandising standards that optimize customer experience and maintaining strong partnerships with suppliers. You will negotiate for early access to new products and exclusive items, ensuring that your category remains competitive. Additionally, you will manage item-level data accuracy in partnership with support teams, adhering to regulatory compliance. Your role will require you to monitor the online catering program, providing innovation to drive its evolution at Whole Foods Market and Amazon.
