You have extensive experience in engineering management, particularly in overseeing mechanical and electrical systems within data centers. You possess a strong technical background, with a deep understanding of data center infrastructure and the critical systems that support it. You are also skilled in project management, capable of coordinating large-scale infrastructure projects from conception to completion.
Desirable

What you'll do
In this role, you will oversee the technical operations of Amazon's data center in Cape Town, ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems are maintained with precision. You will act as the primary escalation point for any facility-related technical challenges, implementing swift and effective solutions to keep operations running smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include driving innovation by developing and deploying new standard practices for engineering operations, continuously improving operational efficiency. You will provide comprehensive guidance and mentorship to Engineering Operations Technicians, helping them to grow their skills and advance their careers.
You will also coordinate large-scale infrastructure projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that all aspects of the project are executed effectively. Your day-to-day activities will involve a dynamic blend of technical problem-solving, strategic planning, and hands-on engineering work, as you navigate through data center operations and troubleshoot sophisticated equipment.
