Who you are
You have experience in critical infrastructure commissioning, particularly within data centers, and are looking for a role that challenges you to solve complex problems. Your background includes working with various systems such as medium and low voltage power systems, generators, UPS, HVAC, and chilled water systems. You understand the importance of construction quality and are skilled in managing expectations according to engineering designs.
You possess strong technical skills in electrical and mechanical infrastructure, allowing you to provide oversight during testing and validation processes. You are familiar with reviewing design documents and equipment submittals, and you have experience leading Factory Witness Testing (FWT). Your ability to manage third-party commissioning vendors ensures that onsite pre-functional, functional, and integrated systems testing is performed effectively.
You are proactive in addressing technical issues and have a bias for action when it comes to coordinating demands on-site. Your experience has taught you the value of deep diving into problems to ensure project success, and you are committed to sharing lessons learned with your team to foster continuous improvement.
Desirable
Experience with data center operations and a strong understanding of the latest technologies in commissioning engineering will set you apart. Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in construction quality management is a plus. What you'll do
As a Commissioning Engineer at Amazon, you will be responsible for overseeing the testing and validation of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure. This includes reviewing design documents and equipment submittals, leading Factory Witness Testing (FWT), and managing third-party commissioning vendors. You will ensure that pre-functional, functional, and integrated systems testing is conducted thoroughly and efficiently.
You will collaborate closely with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure that all systems meet the required specifications and performance standards. Your role will involve troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that arise during the commissioning process, ensuring that projects stay on schedule and within budget.
You will also be responsible for documenting your findings and sharing lessons learned with your team to improve future commissioning efforts.
