Who you are

You have a strong background in real estate and colocation projects, with a proven track record of successfully identifying and securing high-value locations for data centers. Your strategic thinking allows you to navigate complex business and technical challenges, ensuring that the sites you select meet the rigorous requirements of power, latency, and capacity for cloud infrastructure.

You possess excellent negotiation skills, enabling you to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, construction, legal, and finance. Your ability to communicate compelling value propositions makes you a key player in securing the best deals for data center projects.

With a focus on the Asia-Pacific region, you are familiar with the unique challenges and opportunities that come with site selection in diverse markets. You understand the importance of aligning site selection with the growing demand for cloud services and artificial intelligence.

Your analytical skills are complemented by your ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders, ensuring that all parties are aligned and informed throughout the site selection process. You thrive in environments where you can make a significant impact on the future of cloud infrastructure.

Desirable

Experience in negotiating technical, financial, and legal aspects of real estate transactions is a plus. Familiarity with the data center industry and its specific requirements will enhance your effectiveness in this role.

What you'll do

In this role, you will undertake strategic site selection initiatives for AWS data centers across Australia and the Asia region. You will be responsible for identifying potential sites, conducting feasibility studies, and negotiating land acquisitions and build-to-suit projects. Your collaboration with engineering and construction teams will ensure that selected sites meet all technical specifications.

You will also engage with legal and finance teams to navigate the complexities of real estate transactions, ensuring that all agreements are beneficial for AWS. Your role will involve being the single point of escalation for multiple internal stakeholders, resolving conflicts and setting clear expectations.

As you identify colocation opportunities, you will analyze market trends and assess the competitive landscape to make informed decisions. Your strategic planning skills will be crucial in aligning site selection with AWS's long-term growth objectives.
