Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in data engineering with experience in building complex data processes and performance tuning. Your expertise in AWS technologies, including S3, Glue, Redshift, and Athena, allows you to handle large datasets effectively. You are skilled in extracting and analyzing structured and unstructured data from various sources, and you have a passion for identifying patterns within data. Your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers and Data Scientists, is essential for driving improvements in Amazon's Last Mile delivery network.
You possess analytical ingenuity and leadership skills, enabling you to guide and support other engineers in implementing industry best practices. Your business acumen helps you define key business questions and requirements, ensuring that the data solutions you develop align with organizational goals. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are adept at working in fast-paced settings, making you a valuable asset to the team.
What you'll do
In this role, you will design, implement, and support data warehouse and data lake infrastructure using the AWS big data stack. You will develop and manage ETL processes to source data from various systems, ensuring that data is accessible and usable for analysis. Your responsibilities will include constructing complex analyses and providing insights that enhance the efficiency and quality of the routes built for drivers. You will work closely with business owners to understand their needs and translate them into actionable data solutions.
You will leverage your technical skills to extract large volumes of data from relational, non-relational, and No-SQL databases, as well as message streams. Your role will involve performance tuning and optimization of data processes to ensure that they meet the demands of the Last Mile planning systems. You will also provide mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.
