Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in data science with expertise in machine learning and statistical analysis — you understand how to extract insights from complex datasets and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders. You are proficient in programming languages such as SQL and Python, and you have experience developing models that optimize business processes. You possess a keen business intuition that allows you to align data-driven insights with organizational goals, particularly in finance operations.
You are comfortable working with large datasets and have a solid understanding of the Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay processes — your analytical skills enable you to identify trends, outliers, and anomalies that can impact financial performance. You are also adept at adapting methodologies for specific business needs, ensuring that your analyses are relevant and actionable. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences is one of your key strengths, allowing you to educate stakeholders and drive data-informed decision-making.
What you'll do
In this role, you will own high-visibility analyses that drive free cash flow and efficiency for Amazon Finance Operations. You will extract and analyze large amounts of data from various business functions, adapting statistical and machine learning methodologies to develop and test models. Your work will involve running computational experiments and fine-tuning model parameters to achieve the best results for the organization. You will also be responsible for identifying relationships between business data and outcomes, justifying those outcomes to business customers, and delivering actionable insights.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring that your analyses align with broader business objectives. Your role will require you to communicate findings verbally and in writing, educating stakeholders on research and data science practices. You will develop code to analyze data using tools such as SQL, PySpark, and Scala, contributing to the overall success of the FinOps Global Data Analytics team.
