Who you are

You have a solid background in database engineering with experience in managing complex distributed database environments. Your expertise in Oracle Database concepts and administration is complemented by excellent interpersonal communication skills, allowing you to effectively collaborate with multiple customer groups. You thrive under pressure and can rapidly troubleshoot complex technical problems, implementing scalable solutions that meet high demands.

Your technical skills include a deep understanding of UNIX and Linux systems, which you leverage to optimize database performance for high-volume, mission-critical applications. You are familiar with the supporting infrastructure components, including operating systems, hardware/storage configurations, and networks, which enhances your ability to design robust high availability solutions.

You have experience with Oracle EBS and Oracle RAC clusters, and you are adept at analyzing and tuning database performance. Your knowledge extends to implementing and maintaining database security measures, ensuring that access controls and encryption are in place to protect sensitive data.

What you'll do

As a Database Engineer II at Amazon, you will take ownership of Oracle EBS and Oracle RAC clusters, working on a variety of development and maintenance projects in coordination with project and support teams. You will analyze and tune database performance for high-volume applications, ensuring that they operate efficiently and reliably. Your role will involve designing and implementing high availability solutions, such as Oracle RAC and Data Guard, to support the needs of the business.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring that database environments are optimized for performance and scalability. Your responsibilities will also include configuring storage arrays, managing disk configurations, and understanding networking components such as Infiniband to support database operations.
