Amazon is hiring a Mechanical / Electrical Engineer for their InfraOps DCEO team in Swindon. You'll be responsible for operating and maintaining critical electrical and mechanical systems in AWS data centers. This position requires experience in electrical maintenance and knowledge of AWS infrastructure.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in electrical engineering, with hands-on experience in operating and maintaining electrical systems. You understand the complexities of data center operations and are familiar with emergency generator systems and fire/life safety equipment. Your collaborative nature allows you to work effectively with diverse teams, including software, hardware, and network engineers. You are detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high safety and security standards in all operations. You thrive in environments where you can solve challenging problems and contribute to the continuous improvement of infrastructure services.
Desirable
Experience with AWS infrastructure is a plus, as is familiarity with AutoCAD for design and planning purposes. You may also have certifications related to electrical maintenance or safety standards, which would enhance your candidacy. A proactive approach to learning and adapting to new technologies will serve you well in this role.
What you'll do
As a Mechanical / Electrical Engineer in the InfraOps DCEO team, you will be the on-site maintenance technician responsible for ensuring the reliability of all electrical and mechanical systems within the AWS data center. You will operate and maintain critical equipment, including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling systems, ensuring they function optimally to support AWS's global infrastructure. Your role will involve troubleshooting issues, performing routine maintenance, and collaborating with other technical teams to enhance operational efficiency. You will also be responsible for adhering to safety protocols and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and reliability of AWS services, providing customers with the high availability they expect.
