Job Description
Who you are
You have operational experience and familiarity with electrical and mechanical equipment, including Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS), Circuit Breakers, Diesel Generators, and HVAC systems. Your background in electrical and mechanical engineering equips you to troubleshoot and maintain essential infrastructure effectively. You are committed to following and promoting the highest safety standards, ensuring a world-class safety culture within the team. You are capable of taking daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment and supervising contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance. You understand the importance of safety initiatives and are proactive in addressing safety risks and issues. You are comfortable with manual handling and lifting of equipment, adhering to regulations regarding weight limits. You are flexible and able to work shifts as required.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be the technical guardian of Amazon's cloud infrastructure, ensuring the seamless operation of global systems. You will apply your electrical and mechanical skills to maintain the heartbeat of technological innovation. You will take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds and log-taking, monitoring temperatures, voltages, and currents. You will troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and ensure that all safety standards are followed. You will supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards. You will actively participate in safety initiatives and projects, fostering a strong safety culture within the team. Your role will require you to collaborate with other teams to remediate safety risks and issues effectively. You will be responsible for maintaining the operational integrity of critical systems, contributing to the overall success of the data center operations.
