Job Description
Who you are
You are an entry-level Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems. You have hands-on experience troubleshooting equipment and are eager to learn about maintaining mission-critical technology infrastructure. Your attention to detail ensures that you can contribute to maintaining an extraordinary 99.999% uptime, keeping the digital world running smoothly and efficiently. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are excited to work alongside a diverse team of engineers and specialists.
You possess a basic understanding of electrical systems, including three-phase electrical systems, switch gear, UPSs, and PDUs. Your mechanical knowledge includes familiarity with diesel generators, centrifugal chillers, and cooling systems. You are motivated to expand your technical skills and knowledge in a fast-paced environment, and you are ready to take on the challenges that come with maintaining AWS's global infrastructure.
Desirable
Experience with data center operations or related fields is a plus, but not required. A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies will set you apart. You are comfortable working with various tools and equipment and have a proactive approach to problem-solving.
What you'll do
As an Engineering Technician at Amazon, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the heartbeat of our mission-critical technology infrastructure. You will be responsible for operating and troubleshooting various systems within the data center, including electrical and mechanical equipment. Your day-to-day tasks will involve monitoring systems, performing routine maintenance, and responding to any operational issues that arise. You will work closely with other technicians and engineers to ensure that all systems are functioning optimally and that any downtime is minimized.
You will be involved in maintaining stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems, ensuring they are ready for operation when needed. Your role will also include working with cooling systems, such as CRAC units and cooling towers, to maintain the appropriate environmental conditions for our data centers. You will document your work and contribute to the continuous improvement of our operational processes.
