Job Description
Who you are
You are an entry-level Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems. You have hands-on experience troubleshooting complex equipment and are eager to learn about data center operations. You understand the importance of maintaining uptime and are committed to ensuring that mission-critical technology infrastructure runs smoothly. You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working with a diverse team of engineers and specialists.
You possess a basic understanding of electrical systems, including three-phase electrical systems, switch gear, UPSs, and PDUs. You are familiar with mechanical systems such as centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, and air handlers. Your problem-solving skills enable you to quickly identify issues and implement effective solutions. You are detail-oriented and take pride in your work, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standards.
Desirable
Experience with diesel generators and fuel systems is a plus. Familiarity with AWS infrastructure services and cloud computing concepts will help you excel in this role. You are open to learning new technologies and methodologies that will enhance your skills and contribute to the team's success.
What you'll do
As an Engineering Operations Technician at Amazon, you will play a critical role in maintaining the infrastructure that powers global digital experiences. You will be responsible for operating and troubleshooting various electrical and mechanical systems within the data center. Your day-to-day tasks will include performing routine maintenance, conducting inspections, and responding to equipment alarms to ensure optimal performance.
You will collaborate with a team of engineers to identify and resolve issues that may impact uptime. This may involve hands-on work with generators, electrical panels, and cooling systems. You will also document your findings and contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes. Your role is essential in supporting the AWS global infrastructure, ensuring that customers have uninterrupted access to the services they rely on.
In addition to technical responsibilities, you will participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge. You will be encouraged to share your insights and contribute to team discussions, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
