Job Description

Who you are

You are an Engineering Operations Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems — you thrive in hands-on environments and enjoy troubleshooting complex equipment. Your expertise ensures that mission-critical technology infrastructure operates seamlessly, contributing to an extraordinary 99.999% uptime. You have experience working with diesel generators, three-phase electrical systems, and cooling equipment, making you a vital part of the team that keeps the digital world running smoothly.

You understand the importance of maintaining and operating data center facilities — your role is crucial in supporting AWS Infrastructure Services, which designs, plans, delivers, and operates all AWS global infrastructure. You are detail-oriented and proactive, always looking for ways to improve operational efficiency and reliability. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to the challenges that come with maintaining complex systems.

What you'll do

Your day-to-day tasks will include performing routine inspections, conducting preventive maintenance, and responding to equipment failures promptly.

You will collaborate closely with other technicians and engineers to identify and resolve issues that may arise in the data center. Your hands-on experience with electrical systems, including switch gear, UPSs, and PDUs, will be invaluable as you work to maintain the integrity of the infrastructure. You will also be involved in the operation of cooling systems, including centrifugal chillers and air handlers, ensuring that the environment remains conducive for optimal performance.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes and procedures. You will be encouraged to share your insights and suggestions for enhancing system reliability and efficiency. Your work will directly impact the performance of AWS data centers, supporting the global digital experiences of millions of users.
