Job Description
Who you are
You are an Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems — you thrive in hands-on environments where you can troubleshoot and maintain critical infrastructure. Your experience with data center operations and mission-critical facilities makes you a valuable asset to any team. You understand the importance of uptime and are committed to ensuring that systems run smoothly and efficiently.
You have a solid understanding of three-phase electrical systems, including switch gear, UPSs, and PDUs — your expertise extends to stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems. You are comfortable working with cooling systems such as centrifugal chillers and air handlers, and you have experience with pumps and motors. Your technical skills are complemented by your ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams of engineers and specialists.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the electrical and mechanical equipment that powers Amazon's data centers — your work will directly contribute to achieving an extraordinary 99.999% uptime. You will operate and maintain mission-critical facilities, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. Your hands-on approach will involve diagnosing issues and implementing solutions to keep operations running smoothly.
You will collaborate with a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, contributing to the overall success of AWS Infrastructure Services. Your role will require you to stay updated on the latest technologies and best practices in data center operations, allowing you to tackle the most challenging problems in the field. You will also have the opportunity to participate in continuous improvement initiatives, helping to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
