What you'll do

As an Engineering Operations Technician Intern, you will be responsible for providing technical support to Amazon's data centers — your primary focus will be on ensuring that mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems operate at 100% availability. You will assist in troubleshooting equipment failures and participate in root cause analysis to prevent future issues. Daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment will be part of your routine, allowing you to gain hands-on experience with critical systems such as generators, UPSs, and cooling towers.

You will utilize internal systems to manage workflows and interact with third-party vendors and contractors on-site — this exposure will enhance your understanding of the operational aspects of data centers. Your role will involve maintaining equipment and ensuring that it meets the required uptime standards, which is vital for the success of Amazon's data center operations.
