You are a highly driven individual with a strong background in mechanical and electrical engineering, particularly in data center environments. You have hands-on experience with systems such as UPS, generators, and cooling systems, and you thrive in roles that require problem-solving and initiative. Your proactive approach to troubleshooting and fixing infrastructure problems makes you an ideal candidate for this role.
You have a solid understanding of data center operations and the critical importance of maintaining electrical and mechanical infrastructure. Your experience includes performing critical switching activities and site interventions, ensuring that all systems operate efficiently and effectively. You are comfortable working independently and as part of a team, collaborating with other engineers and operations staff to deliver the best results for customers.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of best practice systems and problem resolution on all data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure. You will conduct frequent site interventions and perform critical switching activities, troubleshooting and fixing infrastructure issues as they arise. Your hands-on work will involve diesel generators, switchgear, UPSβs, PDUβs, AHUβs, fire detection systems, and building automation systems. You will report to the Data Center Engineering Operations Manager and work closely with a diverse team of engineers and operations specialists.
Your responsibilities will include ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally and addressing any issues that may impact data center operations. You will be expected to demonstrate initiative and proactively seek solutions to complex technical problems. Your role will be crucial in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of the data center, contributing to the overall success of AWS Infrastructure Services.
