Who you are

You are a highly driven individual with a passion for hands-on work in mechanical and electrical infrastructure. You thrive in environments where you can demonstrate initiative and proactively seek solutions to complex technical problems. Your experience includes working with systems such as diesel generators, switchgear, and UPS systems, and you understand the importance of maintaining high safety standards in operational procedures.

You have a strong commitment to continuous improvement and are eager to drive standardization of procedures and policies. Your collaborative nature allows you to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring operational excellence for all AWS customers. You are comfortable with frequent site interventions and critical switching activities, and you enjoy troubleshooting and fixing infrastructure issues.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of best practice systems and problem resolution on all data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure. You will ensure that preventive maintenance is conducted effectively, contributing to the goal of delivering 100% uptime on all customer-supporting infrastructure. Your day-to-day activities will involve setting and maintaining the highest standards for safety, promoting a world-class safety culture, and driving continuous improvement efforts on infrastructure.

You will collaborate closely with the Data Center Engineering Operations Manager and other team members to deliver performance against agreed metrics. Your hands-on approach will be essential in managing critical infrastructure systems, and you will be expected to take initiative in resolving any issues that arise. Your role will also involve documenting processes and contributing to the overall efficiency of the operations team.
