Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in workplace health and safety, demonstrating the ability to partner effectively with site operations teams to execute safety policies and ensure compliance with local and regional regulations. Your expertise in safety programs and ergonomic knowledge allows you to lead initiatives that reduce risks and create a healthful working environment for associates. You are an effective communicator, capable of delivering clear and concise messages both verbally and in writing, which helps you build trust and confidence with the operations team.
You possess a keen understanding of lean principles and kaizens, which you leverage to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your ability to conduct comprehensive risk assessments and analyze safety data is crucial in identifying best practices and incorporating them into company standards. You are committed to training and instructing operations leaders in safety policies, ensuring that safety standards are integrated into daily operations.
What you'll do
As a WHS Officer at Amazon, you will be responsible for leading a safety team that includes Safety Specialists and Safety Coordinators. You will create and execute leadership development plans for your team members, ensuring they are equipped to meet safety expectations. Your role will involve conducting regular safety audits and assessments, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to enhance workplace safety.
You will collaborate closely with site operations teams to ensure that safety policies are effectively communicated and adhered to. By analyzing safety data and trends, you will provide insights that drive decision-making and influence change within the organization.
