Job Description
Who you are
You have experience in planning and designing physical network infrastructure, including dark fiber, colocation, and ISP cabling — you understand the complexities of backbone network engineering design principles and have a solid market knowledge of network infrastructure providers in your region. You thrive in collaborative environments, working alongside software, hardware, and network engineers, as well as supply chain specialists and operations managers to deliver high-availability solutions at scale.
You possess strong analytical skills and can manage multiple variables impacting the supply chain — your ability to drive strategic planning initiatives is complemented by your technical expertise in optical transport technologies. You are committed to maintaining the highest standards for safety and security while ensuring that customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.
What you'll do
As a Backbone Network Planner, you will be responsible for managing the planning and development of Amazon's physical network infrastructure. You will collaborate with various teams across AWS to design and implement high-availability solutions that meet the needs of our customers. Your role will involve extensive planning and coordination with network infrastructure providers to ensure that our network capabilities are robust and scalable.
You will analyze current network performance and identify areas for improvement, leveraging your expertise to propose innovative solutions that enhance our infrastructure.
