Job Description
Who you are
You have experience in planning and designing physical network infrastructure, including dark fiber, colocation, and ISP cabling β your expertise in optical transport technologies and backbone network engineering design principles sets you apart. You possess good market knowledge of network infrastructure providers in your region, which allows you to make informed decisions that drive strategic planning initiatives.
You thrive in collaborative environments, working alongside software, hardware, and network engineers, as well as supply chain specialists and security experts. Your ability to communicate effectively across diverse teams ensures that you contribute to the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for customers.
What you'll do
As a Backbone Network Planner, you will be responsible for managing the planning and development of Amazonβs physical network infrastructure. You will collaborate with various teams across AWS to tackle the most challenging problems, considering thousands of variables that impact the supply chain. Your role will involve designing high-availability solutions at scale, ensuring that the network infrastructure meets the demands of AWS data centers.
You will drive strategic planning initiatives, working closely with other engineers to deliver innovative solutions that enhance the performance and reliability of the network. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency of AWS services, allowing customers to access the cloud with confidence.
