Overview

Amazon is hiring an Operations Manager for their Fulfillment Center to oversee warehouse processes and lead a team of Area Managers. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to manage operational performance.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a proven track record in operations management, particularly in warehouse or fulfillment environments. Your experience includes leading teams and ensuring operational excellence, with a focus on safety, quality, and performance metrics. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to varying conditions, including long hours and physical demands. Your leadership style emphasizes mentorship and development, fostering a culture of continuous improvement among your team members.

You possess strong communication skills, enabling you to interface effectively with various support areas such as HR, Finance, and IT. Your advanced English skills allow you to navigate complex discussions and reports, ensuring clarity and alignment across teams. You are also familiar with performance metrics and process improvement techniques, which you leverage to drive operational success.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for managing all warehouse processes, whether inbound or outbound, across specific or multiple shifts. You will lead a team of Area Managers and associates, ensuring that safety, quality, and performance standards are met or exceeded. Your strategic planning skills will be crucial as you develop forecasts and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

You will report directly to the Senior Manager of the process and manage a workforce of approximately 300 employees, adjusting for seasonal variations. Your responsibilities will include mentoring and developing your team, ensuring they have the tools and support needed to succeed. You will also interface with various support functions to ensure seamless operations and address any challenges that arise.

Your role will require flexibility, as you will need to work a 3x2 schedule, including weekends and holidays. You will be expected to lift up to 22kg and remain on your feet for extended periods, navigating the warehouse environment effectively. Your ability to adapt to different conditions will be essential in maintaining operational flow and meeting the demands of the business.
