Who you are

You have a strong background in health and safety management, ideally with experience in data centers or similar environments. You understand the importance of safety culture and have a proven track record of implementing safety standards and policies. Your ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, including engineers and construction managers, is essential for success in this role. You are detail-oriented and proactive in identifying and mitigating risks in fast-paced environments. You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to advocate for safety effectively across various stakeholders. You are committed to continuous improvement and are passionate about creating a safe workplace for all employees.

Desirable

Experience in the cloud computing industry or with large-scale infrastructure projects would be a plus. Familiarity with safety regulations and standards specific to data centers is highly desirable. You may also have certifications in health and safety management or related fields, which would enhance your candidacy.

What you'll do

As a Regional Safety Engineer at Amazon, you will take ownership of the health and safety function within your designated area. Your primary responsibility will be to improve the health and safety of our data centers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and advancing our safety culture. You will conduct health and safety audits of data centers and active construction sites, identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective actions. Collaborating closely with data center engineers, you will provide guidance on safe practices when working with electrical switching equipment and large-scale mechanical systems. You will also partner with construction managers to assess risks associated with new infrastructure and advocate for safety during the implementation of new tools and processes. Your role will involve developing and delivering training programs to educate employees and contractors on safety standards and best practices. You will play a key role in fostering a culture of safety, encouraging employees to prioritize health and safety in their daily operations.
