Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in materials management, particularly in the context of new product introductions. Your experience spans across hardware engineering, product engineering, supply chain, sourcing, and manufacturing engineering, allowing you to effectively manage the clear-to-build process for prototypes and production phases. You possess expert knowledge of consumer electronics bills of materials (BOM), component lead times, and logistics implications, especially within Asia-based supply chains. You understand the importance of ensuring material availability for various build phases, including Prototype, EVT, DVT, and PVT, and are adept at managing purchase dates according to lead times for all components on the BOM.
You are a proactive communicator who thrives in cross-functional environments. You attend core team meetings to gain program context and raise visibility on material readiness, ensuring that all configurations have sufficient quantities for each build. Your attention to detail and organizational skills enable you to track and manage materials effectively, contributing to the overall success of product launches.
Desirable
Experience in consumer electronics and familiarity with the challenges of transitioning material specifications to mass production would be advantageous. A background in logistics and supply chain management, particularly in the Asian market, will enhance your ability to navigate the complexities of this role.
