Amazon is hiring a Propulsion Flight Operations Engineer for their Amazon Leo satellite network. You'll support the execution of the full mission lifecycle for the satellite constellation, ensuring safe and effective operations. This role requires expertise in propulsion systems and mission operations.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in propulsion systems and flight operations, ideally with experience in satellite missions. Your understanding of the full mission lifecycle allows you to make informed go/no-go decisions and support early mission checkouts. You are detail-oriented and can work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the success of satellite operations.
You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to serve as a liaison between mission operations and engineering teams. Your ability to develop operational automation will contribute to improving efficiency and effectiveness in satellite operations. You are committed to safety and reliability, ensuring that each satellite mission is executed flawlessly.
What you'll do
In this role, you will support the execution of the full mission lifecycle for Amazon Leo's satellite constellation. This includes making propulsion pre-launch decisions, conducting early mission propulsion checkouts, and ensuring each satellite reaches its designated altitude and station. You will work closely with the Mission Operations team and other Guidance, Navigation, and Control operators to maintain formation keeping throughout the service life of each satellite.
You will also be involved in the descent and decommissioning of satellites, ensuring that all operations are conducted safely and effectively. Your contributions will help shape the future of internet connectivity for customers in remote locations. You will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects that have a significant impact on global connectivity.
