Overview
Amazon is hiring a Systems Engineer for their Propulsion team to support the development and maintenance of systems engineering artifacts for their low Earth orbit satellite network. You'll work on verifying system operations and performance while collaborating with the Propulsion Design Engineering team.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a background in systems engineering, particularly in propulsion systems, and are familiar with the requirements and challenges of aerospace projects. You understand the importance of verifying system operation and performance in various test environments, and you are skilled at developing and defining design and test requirements derived from high-level system specifications. You are detail-oriented and capable of identifying and documenting gaps in test coverage and requirements, ensuring that all aspects of the system are thoroughly evaluated. You possess strong analytical skills that enable you to support data reviews of ground tests and flight operations, confirming nominal operation and investigating anomalies as they arise.
You are comfortable working in a collaborative environment and can effectively communicate with cross-functional teams. Your experience includes developing or implementing tools and processes that enhance the efficiency of engineering tasks, particularly in telemetry analysis from flight and ground tests. You are committed to continuous learning and are eager to develop the knowledge and experience necessary to support mission operations in real-time. You are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, meeting the export control requirements for this position.
What you'll do
In this role, you will work closely with the Propulsion Design Engineering team to create and maintain systems engineering artifacts that ensure propulsion hardware and software perform as required. You will verify system operation and performance in flight, test, and emulated test venues, developing rational and defining design and test requirements derived from high-level system requirements. Your responsibilities will include identifying, documenting, and addressing gaps in test coverage and requirements, as well as supporting data reviews of ground tests and flight operations to confirm nominal operation and investigate anomalies.
You will also be involved in developing or implementing tools and processes that enable the autonomous and scalable identification of trends or anomalies in telemetry data from flight and ground tests. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to ensuring the reliability and performance of the propulsion systems. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure that all engineering processes are aligned with the overall mission of delivering fast, reliable internet connectivity through Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network.
