You have a strong technical background in engineering large-scale software systems β your experience includes building and deploying complex applications that handle vast amounts of data. You are familiar with parallel processing and have a solid understanding of machine learning and deep learning algorithms, which you have applied in real-world scenarios to solve challenging problems.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable taking responsibility for the success of your systems β you have a proven track record of driving solutions from design through coding, testing, and deployment. Your passion for technology and innovation drives you to constantly seek out new challenges and improve existing systems.
You possess excellent problem-solving skills and can think critically about system architecture and design β you understand the importance of scalability and reliability in software development. Your collaborative nature allows you to work effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring that your contributions align with broader organizational goals.
Desirable
Experience with cloud technologies, particularly AWS, is a plus β familiarity with SOA technologies will also be beneficial. You are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies as they emerge, and you are open to mentoring junior engineers as part of your role.
What you'll do
As a Software Development Engineer on Amazonβs Selection Monitoring team, you will be responsible for developing systems that enhance the product catalog by identifying and adding new products. You will apply your expertise in machine learning and deep learning to evaluate products and brands, ensuring that the catalog remains comprehensive and up-to-date.
You will work on building state-of-the-art Information Retrieval systems that mine the web for unstructured and semi-structured data β your role will involve creating structured entities from this data to improve product information, search, and discoverability.
Your work will directly impact the customer experience by improving pricing and delivery processes β you will collaborate with various teams across Amazon to ensure that the datasets produced by your team are utilized effectively.
You will be involved in all stages of the software development lifecycle, from design and coding to testing and deployment β your ability to drive solutions and achieve results will be crucial in this role. You will also have the opportunity to stretch the boundaries of large-scale distributed systems and contribute to innovative solutions that tackle challenges at Amazonβs global scale.
