Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in software development, particularly in machine learning frameworks, and have a proven track record of leading high-performing teams. Your technical expertise includes deep knowledge of AWS services and frameworks such as JAX, OpenXLA, and PyTorch, which you have used to drive innovation in machine learning acceleration.
You possess strong leadership skills and have successfully managed cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration between engineering, compiler, runtime, and kernel development teams. Your ability to mentor and guide engineers is complemented by your strategic vision for integrating machine learning frameworks with AWS's infrastructure.
You are passionate about open-source collaboration and have experience building relationships with open-source communities. You understand the importance of aligning development roadmaps with community objectives to ensure that customers benefit from the latest advancements in machine learning technologies.
Your communication skills are exceptional, allowing you to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You thrive in environments where you can influence the direction of projects and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
Desirable
Experience with cloud computing and machine learning accelerators is a plus, as is familiarity with agile methodologies and project management tools. You are always looking to expand your knowledge and stay updated on the latest trends in machine learning and cloud technologies.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead the Frameworks team within AWS Neuron, overseeing the development and maintenance of critical components that power AWS Inferentia and Trainium. You will drive the technical direction of the team, ensuring that the frameworks are robust, scalable, and aligned with customer needs.
You will collaborate closely with compiler, runtime, and kernel development teams to ensure seamless integration of Neuron with major machine learning frameworks. Your contributions will include reviewing designs, implementing features, and providing technical guidance to your team.
Building and nurturing strategic relationships with open-source communities will be a crucial aspect of your role. You will work with communities such as JAX, OpenXLA, and PyTorch to align framework development with Neuron's strategic objectives, ensuring that our customers have access to the latest innovations in machine learning.
You will also be responsible for mentoring team members, helping them grow their skills and advance their careers. Your leadership will foster a culture of collaboration and innovation, enabling your team to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the demands of our customers.
What we offer
Amazon offers a competitive salary range of $212,700.00 - $287,700.00 USD annually, along with comprehensive benefits including health insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
